President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev and Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov signed a cooperation agreement.
The document envisages cooperation in scientific and innovative activities in several areas - ecology, domestic tourism, development of timber industry and agriculture.
The scientific expertise of the Russian Academy of Sciences will be invaluable for the implementation of economic and socially significant tasks of the Vologda Region.
The cooperation of the parties will be carried out within the framework of a newly created working group which will include leading researchers and scientists of the country.
The Russian Academy of Sciences is interested in the further development of the Vologda Region's dairy farming. Production of milk breaks records in the Vologda Region. Nevertheless, thanks to new scientific developments, the region is ready to increase the production of high-quality milk.
It is planned to increase the efficiency of aquaculture, a new direction in the agriculture of the Vologda Region. Jointly with the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Vologda Region Government intends to introduce new technologies in the industry.
“Having signed this agreement, we agreed on development of those industries that require new scientific solutions and approaches. To be competitive in a rapidly changing world, to develop entirely new and improved products and services, the enterprises must develop on the basis of new technological solutions," Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov summed up. The Russian Academy of Sciences is the foundation on which innovation and technological developments are based. This applies to our country and the Vologda region."
