Organisers announce that 15th International Theatre Festival Voices of History will be held in Vologda from July 1 throughout July 10.
The Voices of History Festival started in 1991 in Vologda as a showcase of performances in the historical and architectural surroundings. The festival has long been a hallmark of the Vologda Region. Its main open-air stage is the territory of the unique ensemble of the Vologda Kremlin, which is a point of interest itself.
This year the Voices of History will be held not only in the historical setting of the Vologda Kremlin, but also in Cherepovets, Kirillov and Belozersk. About 40 performances are to be shown at the 15th International Festival Voices of History.
The Voices of History always attract the most skilful actors and repertory theatres from Moscow, St.Petersburg, Novgorod, Pskov, Vladimir, Arkhangelsk, Samara and other Russian cities. Theatres from USA, Poland, Greece, Italy, Ukraine, Belarus, Slovakia and other countries come to give performances in Vologda.
The organisers of the festival are the Vologda Region Government and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Vologda Region.
The festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Union of Theatre Workers of the Russian Federation, Administrations of Vologda City, the city of Cherepovets, Kirillov District and Belozersk District.
