On May 15, museums of Vologda Region will join international campaign Night of Museums for a night of special events and exhibitions.
Night of Museums is an international event which annually is celebrated in Europe and America and dedicated to International Museum Day. Usually on this night, local cultural institutions stay open extra-late to celebrate culture, science, and education. Museums show visitors the behind-the-scenes action and display one-off exhibitions and performances.
This year the museums of the Vologda Region will take part in an international campaign Night of Museums for the 14th time. On this occasion Vologda’s museums prepare a special program - exhibitions, concerts, performances, master classes and historical reconstruction. Vologda’s museums will organize excursions, academic readings, museum and theatre performances, and special activities with children.
The affiliates of the Vologda State Museum-Preserve - Museum of Architecture and Ethnography, Lace Museum, Memorial Museum of Peter I, Memorial estate of A.Mozhaisky, Museum "World of forgotten things" - will participate in the international campaign Night of Museums. Some cultural institutions will hold their events online in light of coronavirus concerns.
