Vologda Region Governor is participating in an All-Russian conference with international participation “Healthy cities: public health at municipal level” held in Cherepovets.
The All-Russian conference with international participation “Healthy cities: public health at municipal level” held on March 26-27 opened in Cherepovets.
Over 700 participants from 27 Russian regions gathered in Cherepovets to take part in this Conference that focuses on solving the tasks for preserving and strengthening the health of citizens and healthy way of life.
At the panel discussions, the participants of the conference considered modern approaches to the development and implementation of municipal public health programs concerning healthy nutrition and healthy urban environment. They discussed non-chemical addictions and prevention for children and adolescents at schools and presented corporate health promotion programs in the workplace.
Special attention was paid to the implementation of the WHO project “Improving the health of children and adolescents in Russian schools, including the promotion of healthy diets and physical activity”.
Making people healthier and developing medical science are rightly among government policy’s top priorities. There is an undisputed need for greater cooperation between the authorities, public organisations and business circles in this area. The Association’s programmes and major projects and initiatives carried out in many different parts of Russia help to educate the public, promote a healthy way of life, and improve the demographic situation. The Russian National Network Association of Healthy Cities, Regions and Settlements also spreads the use of modern effective diagnosis, prevention and treatment methods in medical practice.
Mr. Kuvshinnikov heads the Russian National Network Association of Healthy Cities, Regions and Settlements that comprises over 92 municipalities with a population of 16 mln people. The Russian network of Healthy Cities has been operating since 2010. It gathered 7 cities-members at that time. It is clearly visible that the Russian Association of Healthy Cities is active and rapidly growing.
