Today Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov came to Veliky Ustyug on a working visit.
Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov paid a working visit to the District of Veliky Ustyug as part of a series of visits throughout the Vologda Oblast examining economic and social development of regions.
To begin with, Oleg Kuvshinnikov inspected the implementation of the program on resettlement of citizens from dilapidated housing and inspected the construction site of a sports centre that is to be commissioned at the end of 2017.
The new sports centre in Veliky Ustyug will have a skating-rink, football and volleyball playgrounds, and other facilities for various games. According to preliminary agreement with the RF Ministry of Sports, 80% of financing will be granted from the federal budget and 20% - from the budget of the Vologda Oblast.
Then, the Governor took part in a meeting of the Town Planning Council of the region devoted to the strengthening of the left bank of the Sukhona River aimed to prevent spring floods.
After that, Mr. Kuvshinnikov will also overflow the territories to inspect the water resources situation in the region. The local administration, the Department of Emergency Situations and the Governor will discuss flood-prevention measures in spring 2017. Spring flood might lead to the submerging of several villages in the District of Veliky Ustyug. That is why it is necessary to use complex anti-flood measures.
On a visit to Veliky Ustyug Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov will meet with the head of the district to discuss the socio-economic development, and meet with the residents of the District of Veliky Ustyug.
