The Governor held a meeting, via videoconference, on the socioeconomic situation in Veliky Ustyug District.
On June 9th Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov held a working meeting aiming to discuss the socioeconomic situation in the District of Veliky Ustyug.
Taking part in the meeting were head of the District of Veliky Ustyug Alexander Kuzmin and local government officials.
Head of the District of Veliky Ustyug Alexander Kuzmin told the Governor about the implementation of major projects - reconstruction of the airport in Veliky Ustyug, repair of social and infrastructure facilities and the road network.
The airport in Veliky Ustyug is located 1,000 kilometres from Moscow. In line with the President’s instruction, its runway is being extended from 1300 metres to 1800 metres. The first stage of work should be completed by August 5,2020.
The district ranks third after Vologda and Cherepovets in terms of investment volumes. I would like to thank the district's administration for fulfilling my instructions. Much has already been done, but there is still a huge amount of work ahead," said the Governor.
