On March 20th Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov paid a working visit to the District of Verkhovazh’ye.
The visit is part of a series of visits throughout the Vologda Oblast examining economic and social development of regions.
The District of Verkhovazh’ye is situated in the north-east of the Vologda Region. It borders on the Arkhangelsk Region, the districts of Tarnoga, Tot’ma, Syamzha and Vozhega within the Vologda Oblast. In the branch structure, agriculture, construction, hunting and timber industry take a dominating position.
Oleg Kuvshinnikov arrived in the District of Verkhovazh’ye to inspect economic and social development of the district, the most important infrastructure facilities of the district and to get acquainted with the plans for their development.
Mr. Kuvshinnikov began his visit with opening of a local first aid post offering basic medical aid in one of the settlements of the district. Then the Governor attended a new dairy farm for 200 heads of milk cows. The program of the visit also included inspection of roads of the district, a visit to a sports centre and a wood-processing company.
The visit of Oleg Kuvshinnikov to the District of Verkhovazh’ye wound up with a meeting with the head of the district and its population.
