John Warren, a Russian TV presenter born in Miami, came to Vologda for literally four days to shoot his culinary show Poedem, poedim! (Let's go, let's eat) on NTV channel.
NTV’s anchor John Warren arrived in the Vologda Oblast to make a TV show about local food in Vologda Region.
John Warren who has been living in Russia for more than 20 years visited a Museum of Architecture and Ethnography in the village of Semenkovo located not far from the Vologda City where he prepared world famous Vologda butter and cooked spinach, carrot and red beet pancakes. Fun songs, games, walking on stilts, and other entertainment activities were also part of the culinary broadcast.
Then, NTV’s anchor visited a village of Sevastyanovo where he not only saw how the Russian felt boots (valenki) are made but also participated in the process. Now John Warren knows that felt boots manufacturing is rather tedious. It takes some time and efforts to manually rub delicate wool with hot water so that the wool fibers will intertwine and bundle up to form into one shape.
