One of the main topics of the plenary session is the fight against novel coronavirus infection. According to Ms. Melita Vujnović, a WHO Representative to the Russian Federation in Moscow, people need to learn how to control the virus. Dr Melita Vujnović stressed that, face masks combined with other preventive measures, such as getting vaccinated, frequent hand-washing and physical distancing, can help slow the spread of the virus and reduce the number of sick people.

This is the only way to reduce the spread of the pandemic, the number of patients who are being treated at hospitals, rescue the patients and reduce the mortality from COVID-19 infection.

“The pandemic has shown that we must be ready for conscious responsibility for our own health and the health of other citizens, to be full-fledged partners of the state in the fight against the coronavirus. All together - members of the Association, heads of local governments, major medical organizations, and doctors are able to reduce the risk of spreading, get herd immunity in the population and save the lives of our people,” said Oleg Kuvshinnikov, Chairman of the Russian National Network Association of Healthy Cities, Regions and Settlements.
