Development of foreign economic relations of Vologda Region and Czech Republic was discussed in Vologda.
A delegation of the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic arrived in Vologda on an official visit on December 4.
The main purpose of the visit is development of international cooperation of regions, presentation of their opportunities, discussion of guidelines for cooperation, and establishment of direct contacts between enterprises.
The Czech delegation is led by Mr. Laštůvka, Consul of Economic Affairs of the Czech Republic Consulate in Saint Petersburg. Among the members of the delegation there are representatives of business circles and heads of enterprises.
On a visit to Vologda, the Czech entrepreneurs held negotiations with the top leadership of the leading companies of the Vologda Region (from Cherepovets, Syamzha, Veliky Ustyug and Sokol). Such B2B meetings provide an opportunity for local companies and firms to present their economic potential abroad and to boost cooperation in different spheres.
In addition to it, the members of the Czech delegation took part in the 24th international fair and exhibition Russian Forest that is held annually in Vologda.
The Moravian-Silesian Region and the Vologda Oblast have been sustaining partnership ties since 2005 in such spheres as culture, economy, tourism, education, small- and medium-sized businesses, fair and exhibition activities, firefighting and rescue service. Tourism and interaction in medicine are other priority spheres of cooperation between the regions.
Moravian-Silesian Region is an active trade and cultural partner of the Vologda Oblast. Ferrous metals, lumber and plywood are delivered to the Czech Republic from Vologda. The leading imports to the Vologda Region are optics, machinery and equipment.
