Deputy Governor Mr. Tushinov took part in a meeting of Russian-Chinese Standing Working Group on Interregional Cooperation and Special Economic Zones.

The first meeting of the Russian-Chinese Standing Working Group on Interregional and Cross-border Cooperation and Special Economic Zones was held in the video conference format.

It was chaired by Ilya Fyodorov, Director of the Department for Integration Projects and CIS Countries Development. The Chinese delegation was headed by Director of the Eurasia Department of the Ministry of Commerce of China, Wang Kaixuan. Among the participants there were representatives of the RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of Russian state authorities and representatives of Russian regions. The participants of the meeting discussed prospects for interregional investment cooperation.

During the meeting the parties briefed on key aspects of developing trade, economic and investment cooperation between Russia and China. The participants specified the importance of promoting the development of Russian-Chinese relations. The members of the meeting also discussed major issues of investment cooperation between the regions of Russia and China.

Deputy Governor of the Vologda Region Vitaly Tushinov stressed that it is important to develop cooperation between Russian and Chinese enterprises in the field of agriculture and forestry.

The relations between the Vologda Oblast and China have been dynamically expanding in recent times. Mr. Tushinov underlined that, the Chinese People’s Republic is one of the most active trade partners of the Vologda Oblast. For 11 months of 2020, the foreign trade turnover of the Vologda Region with China amounted to more than USD 266 million. The main exports are copper, ferrous metals, wood and wood-working goods. Import articles are stone goods, equipment, non-ferrous metals, products made of gypsum and cement.
