Black caviar from Vologda Region is exported to South Korea.

03.11.2021 08:31

Black caviar from Vologda Region is exported to South Korea.

Black caviar is one of the most expensive food products in the world. The Vologda Region produces black caviar at the only enterprise, Diana, which is a part of the Russian Caviar House group of companies.

Russia's largest company for raising sturgeon in a hatchery and harvesting black caviar is located in Cherepovets (300 miles from Moscow). The waterways' advantageous location next to the local hydroelectric station that provides hot water allows this thermophilic precious breed of fish to be raised all-year round.

The Vologda Region exported about 14 kilograms of black caviar to South Korea, the product meets all the veterinary requirements of the recipient country.

All in all, 40 kilograms of black caviar were exported from the Vologda Region to the Republic of Korea in 2021.
