Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov visited a hospital in Cherepovets and addressed medical workers who are currently at the forefront of the coronavirus pandemic.

XV International Drama Festival Voices of History has been postponed in line with a ban on large-scale events until 2021.

Vologda was to become home to XV International drama festival "Voices of History" from July 1 throughout July 10, 2020. But Voices of History announced it would postpone until summer 2021, a decision "aligned with the recent Volodga Region Government recommendations aimed at containing the spread of the coronavirus."

27 May is a holiday for Vologda’s lacemakers. This year it is celebrated for the first time. Vologda lace has won deserved fame and world-wide recognition for its high artistic value, rich ornament, and excellent workmanship. The earliest laces, which have reached us, date back to the 17th century. The lace woven from golden and silver threads decorated rich civilian and church garments and was mostly used by the nobility.

TourStat Analytic Agency published the list of Russia's most popular destinations for people seeking medical procedures this summer. The Vologda Region is in the list of the 50 most popular places for medical tourism in Russia.

Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov participated in a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The President held a meeting, via videoconference, on the situation with floods and wildfires in the Russian regions.
