Georgy Filimonov to be inaugurated on September 26.
Georgy Filimonov, who has won Vologda’s gubernatorial election, is to be sworn in as the region’s Governor on September 26th, according to the Charter of the Vologda Region.
Traditionally a flax growing area, the Vologda Region's main light industry is flax fabrics.
The Vologda Region was established on September 23, 1937.
The festival is named after Valery Gavrilin, the great Russian composer, People's artist of Russia who was born in Vologda.
The folklore festival has been held in the Vologda Region since 2014. It unites the best amateur groups, craftsmen, researchers in the field of traditional folk culture.
2024 Vologda Region gubernatorial election was held on 6-8 September.

Black caviar from Vologda Region is exported to Jordan.
Black caviar is one of the most expensive food products in the world. The Vologda Region produces black caviar at the only enterprise, Diana, which is a part of the Russian Caviar House group of companies.
The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Preserve of History, Architecture and Decorative Arts was established in 1924 and comprises monuments of stone architecture - the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery (1397), Ferapontov monastery (1398), Goritsky Nunnery (1544) and a wooden Prophet Elijah Church (1775).
All products exported to Iran passed the necessary tests for compliance with the phytosanitary requirements of the importing country.
