Biography
Georgy Yuryevich Filimonov was born on February 23, 1980 in Tomsk.
Between 1981 and 1997, he lived in Cherepovets, Vologda Region.
Career
2005 - 2009 - Consultant, then Adviser to the Office of the President of the Russian Federation on Foreign Policy.
Georgy Filimonov defended his PhD thesis in 2007.
Since 2009 - Associate Professor at RUDN University, since 2014 - Professor at RUDN University.
In 2013, he defended his doctor's dissertation at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
2009 - 2014 - ZAO Soglasie, Deputy Director General for foreign economic cooperation.
2014 - 2017 - Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasts of the RUDN University.
2017 - 2021 - Assistant to the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Internal Policy.
2021 - October 2021 - deputy chairman of the Moscow Region Government.
On October 31, 2023 President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin resolved to appoint Georgy Filimonov Acting Governor of the Vologda Region until an elected governor takes office.
Awards
Georgy Yu. Filimonov was awarded a medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree and the gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation.
Honored Master of Sports of Russia, world champion in kickboxing (WAKO), champion of Russia and winner of international wushu tournaments.
A sportsman of the Cherepovets "Martial Arts Center".
