Ivan Poluyanov


Born on August 6, 1926 in the village of Kiselevo (the Vologda Oblast).
Participated in the Great Patriotic War, has many medals and the Order.
Graduated from the Arkhangelsk Teachers Training University.
1957 - member of Russian Writers' Union.
Has been living in Vologda since 1960.
Wrote more than 30 works in prose. Among them are "Where Clouds are Born", "For the Blue Bird", "Country calender".
The main theme of the works is the relations between people and Nature.
1986 - was awarded the rank of Russia's honoured cultural worker.
1999 - was awarded the State Prize on Literature and Art for his work "Country calender".
