The aim of the Green Week is to intensify the dialogue between experts and professionals in agriculture, the consumer goods industry and the European trade. Established in 1926 it takes place for the 75th time in 2010. 1600 exhibitors from 56 countries are expected to participate in the IGW this year.

The exposition of the Vologda Oblast, occupying 64 sq m is demonstrated in a Russian peasant's house. But an exotic backdrop cannot substitute for the quality of what is displayed. Major Vologda enterprises show the entire potential of the local food industry-from dairy, meat, liquor and confectionery products to mushrooms, berries and the products resulting from their processing. Special attention is devoted to those companies whose activities are governed by a quality and environmental management system based on ISO and HACCP system. Linen fabrics, niello adornments and hunting trophies are also part of the region's display. The visitors to the exhibition notice that Vologda's exposition is the most attended in the Russian collective display.
