Work of Vologda’s volunteers was highly appreciated by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.
Alexander Bugayev, head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs met with Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov.
The parties discussed the implementation of youth policy in the regions of Russia, volunteer movement and the possibility of holding an environmental forum in the Vologda Region. The Federal Agency highly appreciated the work on the implementation of youth policy in the Vologda Region.
Young people from the Vologda Region joined the “#МыВместе” campaign (“we are together”). They support the people's health and wellbeing through this difficult time.
During the pandemic, volunteer centres were established in all districts of the Vologda Region in March 2020. The United Volunteer Centre in Vologda became the main coordinator. The Centre helps the elderly and people with reduced mobility. Every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. the Centre's employees receive applications from citizens for assistance in purchasing medicines, food, personal hygiene items and rubbish disposal.
In the coming days, as part of the "We are Together" campaign, a large project will be launched to help disseminate information about Covid-19 vaccine campaign.
Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov stressed that despite the difficulties of 2020, the work on the implementation of youth policy in the region was continued. According to the head of the region, all the planned youth projects and events took place, albeit in a modified format, and young residents of the Vologda Region were active participants in the federal youth policy.
