Vologda Region has commenced to repairing roads under a national project “Safe and high-quality roads”.
Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov announced that the Vologda Region began repairing roads in the framework of the national project.
Mr. Kuvshinnikov set the task to start the road repair campaign as soon as favorable weather conditions set in. The region implemented preparatory measures, held auctions to select contractors and opened the road repair season.
Road-repairing organisations and specialized equipment are ready to work, the necessary materials were delivered. Oleg Kuvshinnikov stressed that despite the pandemic road repair will not stop. The Governor required strict compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements and strict quality control of the work.
Within the framework of national project “Safe and High-Quality roads”, in 2020, the Vologda Region will repair 21 streets (ten streets in Vologda City and eleven streets in Cherepovets).
Russian national project "Safe and high-quality roads" will cover 104 cities forming agglomerations in 83 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The modernisation of regional road network is one of the key goals of the national project “Safe and high quality roads”.
In particular, in the framework of the project, by 2024 (compared to 2017), the share of regional roads in the normative state should increase from 43.1% to 50.9%, half of the accident concentration sites should be eliminated.
