Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov inspected the district of Sokol of the Vologda Oblast yesterday.
Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov is to visit all 26 districts of the Vologda Region, and the cities of Vologda and Cherepovets where he will meet with the heads of the districts and their population.
On February 19th Mr. Kuvshinnikov visited the District of Sokol to inspect economic and social development of the district. Sokol, located 35 kilometres off Vologda, is a classical mono-city. It was built in 1932, its main branches of industry being wood processing, pulp and paper industry.
To begin with, the Governor met with the head of the district who briefed on the economic situation in the district in general.
During the visit Oleg Kuvshinnikov inspected the place of construction of a new school to make sure the construction works are in full swing. Then, he proceeded to the Sukhona River where local authorities presented a coastal embankment improvement project.
To wind up the meeting, the Governor also answered questions of the citizens of the Sokol District.
