On September 2, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev chaired a video conference with the regional authorities on education development.
The participants of the video conference briefed on the implementation of the priority national project Education that was conceived to modernise regional secondary education systems. The Education national project, approved by the May decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2018, is due to be implemented between 2019 and 2024. The national project is tasked to ensure global competitiveness of Russian education. It aims to create comfortable and modern conditions for children and students.
Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov participated in the conference when opening a new school in Cherepovets. He noted that the region takes an active part in implementation of the priority national project Education. Over the last three years, five secondary schools were built in the Vologda Region.
Moreover, two children's technology parks "Quantorium" were opened in the region. The children's techno parks are flagship projects in the field of additional education for children, aimed at developing their creative abilities and increasing interest in scientific and technical activities. The educational trial in science parks will encompass work over the product towards which the child is oriented and parallel study of the set of disciplines. The leading technical directions of a programme correspond to subjects of National technology initiative - robotics, energy, aircraft modelling, industrial design, work with virtual and mixed reality, biotechnologies.
According to the top leadership of the Vologda Oblast, availability of places in preschool institutions for children from 3 to 7 years old in our region is 100 percent. By RF President's decree, municipalities are required to guarantee all children at least 3 years of age a spot in a nursery school.
