An award for outstanding achievements in dairy industry named after Nikolai Vereshchagin, the founder of Vologda butter making was presented in Vologda today.
Vologda is hosting II Russian Dairy Industry Forum “Vologda-Dairy Capital of Russia”. The Forum is a venue to discuss the most relevant issues related to the milk products market, business and dairy industry as a whole. Attendees have the chance to talk one-on-one with leading researchers, technical experts and sales representatives from different Russian regions.
The program of the Dairy Forum includes a plenary session and round tables with the participation of leading experts and leaders in the field of milk processing.
Today the Forum in Vologda saw the signing of an agreement concerning establishment of an award for demonstrating outstanding achievements in the dairy industry named after Nikolai Vereshchagin, the founder of Vologda butter making and modern Russian dairy farming.
An award for outstanding achievements in the dairy industry named after Nikolai Vereshchagin is designed to honour dairy industry leaders that have contributed to strengthen and enliven the dairy industry. It is designed to promote further intensive development and prosperity of the Russian dairy industry, development of new strategies and introduction of innovative approaches, expansion of the assortment of dairy products and development of competitiveness of the Russian dairy sector.
The award will be given once a year. The first winners will be nominated in 2019, the year of the 180th anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Vereshchagin.
