The Health Care Department of the Vologda Region instructed medical colleges to deploy students who have completed one or two years of study to local policlinics and hospitals for practical training.
Even before the pandemic hit Russia, doctors had complained about a lack of resources.
Vologda’s regional authorities asked resident doctors in their first year or higher to help at hospitals in Vologda, Cherepovets and five districts of the Vologda Region.
34 resident doctors and 132 medical students serve home calls and receive patients in policlinics, students are involved in working at laboratories, registry and a call centre.
