Slovenian businessmen became interested in the products of Cherepovets companies.
A delegation from the Vologda Oblast led by Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov arrived in Ljubljana, the Republic of Slovenia to discuss guidelines for partnership ties. High-ranking officials of the Vologda Oblast Government, representatives of business circles and municipalities presented an economic, investment and tourism potential of the Vologda Region in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia.
On a visit to the Republic of Slovenia, Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov had meetings with Slovenian National Council President Mitja Bervar and State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology Aleš Cantarutti.
Vologda Oblast Governor and State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology Aleš Cantarutti defined guidelines for mutually-beneficial cooperation between the Vologda Region and Slovenia. Mr. Cantarutti confirmed that a delegation from Slovenia will come on a return visit to Vologda this July.
On the second day of the visit the delegation from the Vologda Oblast travelled to Maribor, the second-largest city in Slovenia. According to Deputy Governor Alexei Kozhevnikov, the Vologda Region is interested in establishing partnership ties that will last. Representatives of a number of Vologda’s companies in such spheres as timber industry, machine building, construction and IT technologies arrived in Slovenia in search of new contacts and business partners. In the course of a two day visit to Slovenia, top leadership of Vologda’s companies had meeting with over 100 representatives of foreign firms.
Wood processing and deliveries of mineral fertilizer attracted Slovenian specialists' interest. Cherepovets plywood and furniture-producing factory will deliver its produce to Slovenia. OAO Cherepovetsles will supply fuel pellets to Slovenia. In addition to it, the members of Vologda’s delegation offered a number of investment projects in agriculture and timber industry to the Slovenian partners.
