Production of sturgeon, catfish and trout has increased in the Vologda Region.
In the first half of 2020 fish farms of the region produced 288 tonnes of fish, 2.5 times more than in the same period last year. This information was presented at a meeting of the Vologda Region Fishery Council.
The online business meeting brought together the fishery councils for Lake Beloe, Lake Kubenskoye, Lake Onega, Lake Vozhe and Sheksna Reservoir, as these are the most valuable reservoirs in the Vologda Region in terms of fisheries.
In the first half of 2020, fish farms in our region produced 288 tonnes of commercial fish and a ton of fish planting material, which is almost 2.5 times more compared to the last year figure during the same period. At the end of 2019, 599 tonnes of these products were produced, which is 3.4 times more than in 2018.
