Cherepovets entered the top ten single-industry cities of the Russian Federation.
Results of the main rating for all single-industry cities of the Russian Federation are announced in Moscow. Cherepovets (Vologda Region) is one of the best mono- cities in Russia.
The rating is compiled by the Mono-City Development Fund. It assesses the activity and effectiveness of local self-government bodies in the course of implementing the objectives of the program "Single-Industry Towns Integrated Development". Top-10 helps to identify the strongest, most promising features of single-industry leaders and determine the most successful projects to improve the quality of life in these municipalities.
The top ten also includes Naberezhnye Chelny (Republic of Tatarstan), Togliatti (Samara Region), Pervomaysky (Tula Region), Gubkin (Belgorod Region), Kumertau (Republic of Bashkortostan), Kostomuksha (Republic of Karelia), Nevinnomyssk (Stavropol territory), Nizhnekamsk (Republic of Tatarstan) and Tutaev (Yaroslavl Region).
Now Cherepovets is actively involved in the implementation of federal programs for territory development. The city has improved new parks, squares and embankments, investment projects are being implemented, and an industrial park is being developed.
