Meeting with university students to mark Russian Students Day

26.01.2021 10:44

Vologda Region Governor had a meeting with talented, smart, persevering and ambitious representatives of local universities and other higher education institutions of the Vologda Region.

This meeting was attended by over 80 university students. Some students joined the meeting via videoconference. They represented state universities, as well as other higher education institutions that train engineers, lawyers, teachers, economists and agriculture specialists.

During the meeting, the head of the region talked with students and answered dozens of questions on various topics.

There are 8 higher educational institutions in the region with about 18,000 people being educated there. The network of technical and vocational schools in the Vologda Oblast includes 34 colleges with about 27,000 students being educated there.

Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov congratulated graduate and postgraduate students of universities, as well as graduates of previous years, on the holiday devoted to Russian students that is marked on January 25th.

“The year 2020 was not the easiest year for the whole world, and for the student community as well. The transition to a totally remote study format was an exclusively temporary measure, related to the spread of the coronavirus. I want to thank you for your perseverance and readiness to learn amid the difficult conditions of the pandemic. In the past few months you missed the thrilling university environment, missed personal communication with your friends and professors. Together with your mentors you have done your best to continue the entire learning process”, said Oleg Kuvshinnikov.

The Governor wished the students to make the best possible use of all opportunities to get a better grip on the future, to set themselves meaningful goals and realize their dreams.
