Large-scale repair campaign: 111 educational organizations have been renovated in Vologda Region this year.
At the initiative of Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov in 2020, it was planned to renovate and repair 111 aging educational facilities - schools, kindergartens and colleges.
On October 22nd Mr.Kuvshinnikov inspected some major educational institutions in Vologda after repair, renovation, and modernization. Now these schools and day care centres are designed to meet the demands of current or future technology. Major repairs were carried out there - floor coverings, window blocks, doors, water supply and sewerage, electrical wiring and ventilation systems were replaced. Gyms and student canteens were renovated. School workshops were also completely repaired and new equipment was installed.
Major repairs at schools were held thanks to an agreement between the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Vologda Region. Within the framework of the state program "Development of Education", Vologda City received a subsidy from the federal and regional budgets. New school buildings are being constructed at the expense of the federal budget as part of the national project "Housing and Urban Environment". According to the Governor, all in all 1.2 billion rubles were allocated for this purpose – twice as much as last year.
Oleg Kuvshinnikov also visited a construction site of a new stadium attached to Sports School of Olympic Reserve in Vologda. 755 million rubles are channeled from the regional budget for its comprehensive modernization.
The Sports School of Olympic Reserve in Vologda is one of the region's newest facilities. It is a multi-sport leisure centre. It offers a variety of quality fitness facilities and leisure activities to help people keep active and lead a healthy lifestyle. The centre boasts a wide range of new facilities. This includes a new gym, a tennis centre, a sports hall and new changing rooms and showers for gym users. Now the Sports School of Olympic Reserve has a new 25m five lane swimming pool, a brand new teaching pool, new large changing areas.
“Vologda is changing. This year alone, we are building and reconstructing more than a hundred objects - social, sports, educational, recreational areas and the road network. The city has taken a steady pace of infrastructure development. We will continue all this work next year”, noted the Governor.
