How to Become/Be a Governor and Stay Alive: presentation of Governor’s book in Moscow.

14.10.2021 11:47

Students of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration were the first to get acquainted with Oleg Kuvshinnikov's autobiographical book "How to Become/Be a Governor and Stay Alive ". Mr. Kuvshinnikov briefed on his experience of management of the region and told about the book. Oleg Kuvshinnikov is a graduate of the Academy - he graduated from it in 2005 (faculty of management and international business).

The book is written in the form of a story about difficulties and successes in the work of the head of a huge region. It is timed to coincide with the tenth anniversary of Oleg Kuvshinnikov's work as Governor. As the author admits, he was prompted to this creative experiment by his sons who were often interested in how to take responsibility and make non-standard decisions, while maintaining openness and independence in the rigid vertical of public administration.

Oleg Kuvshinnikov told the students about the Vologda Region and priority challenges he faced at the beginning of his career. The head of the region revealed the secrets of building a cohesive team and briefed on the effectiveness of modern methods of work. The governor stressed that the book describes unique moments of his personal career and “behind the scenes”. Even close people do not know about many things.

At the end of the presentation of the book, the students asked Oleg Kuvshinnikov about the secret of the Vologda Region's economic success, the role of Cherepovets in the life of the region, the development of tourism in the Vologda Region and others.

TASS, the largest Russian news agency also held a press conference devoted to the presentation of the book. Oleg Kuvshinnikov met with journalists and answered their questions.
