Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov visited Vologda industrial and technical college and congratulated students and educators on 80th anniversary of Russian professional education.

Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov visited the Vologda industrial and technical college where he presented awards to those who distinguished themselves and congratulated teachers, students and graduates of schools, technical schools and colleges on the upcoming holiday.

During its 80-years history the system of professional education has been developed into modern scientific educational complex.

The network of technical and vocational schools in the Vologda Oblast offers an opportunity to acquire a secondary education and almost any profession, which might be in demand here. Technical colleges provide training for employment in technical occupations. Two-year colleges offer a broad range of programs. For example, there are health programs (nursing, medical and dental assisting, X-ray technology); engineering technology programs (civil, electrical and architectural engineering); building trades programs (masonry, carpentry, home construction, wiring, plumbing); business occupations programs (secretarial, data processing, word processing, computer sciences, management, bookkeeping and accounting); agricultural programs (agricultural business, economics, sciences, technologies) and automotive technologies.

The government of the Vologda Region actively supports the younger generation who enters secondary vocational educational institutions. Every year, the number of budget places increases and the range of training areas expands. During last three years, the number of educational programs has doubled in the Vologda Region.
