Oleg Kuvshinnikov met with Vologda’s volunteers heading for the Far East of Russia.
25 volunteers from the Vologda Oblast will go to Khabarovsk affected by the disaster called the most severe in 120 years.
The authorities in the Far East ordered to increase the amounts of water-stopping dams in the area to boost safety.
The Emergency Ministry is transferring experts from all over the country to the Far East in order to help deal with the situation. The flooded areas still need special equipment for pumping water, electrical generators, sawn timber and special equipment for emergency recovery work.
The volunteers from the Vologda Oblast will help evacuate the population from the zone of flooding, carry water and medicines.
A few weeks ago Oleg Kuvshinnikov asked the public servants of the Vologda Oblast to allocate money to those in need. All in all, RUR 1,5 mln were collected for the people in the affected areas.
