The Vologda Oblast Governor presented the awards to the winners of the 7th region’s contest that was organised with an active support of the local government.
The contest for the best farmstead aims to strenthen families, to share best lessons learned and experience between generations, to transfer knowledge and expertise to younger generations and to make young people interested in farming.
In 2013 25 young families and 26 Elderly residents' families from all regions of the Vologda Oblast participated in the contest.
Addressing the winners and participants of the contest, the Vologda Oblast Governor thanked them for their work, for their love for the countryside and promotion of agriculture and development of rural economy. The countryside is the home and centre of activity of the people who live there. It is very important that the farmers remain competitive and adapt their activities in line with changing market needs. The Governor stressed that the more farmsteads will appear in the region, the more inputs and more intensive means of production will be introduced, the faster production and yields will rise.
