Five polyclinics will be built in Vologda Region in the next five years.

A large-scale program of modernization of primary health care has been launched in the Vologda Region. The program envisages construction and repair of polyclinics and purchase of modern equipment for the region’s medical institutions.

The idea of building new polyclinics was supported by the Russian President. At the end of last year, the local government signed an agreement with the RF Ministry of Health Care concerning allocation of federal funds to co-finance the regional program for the modernization of primary health care system. More than RUR 5 bln rubles will be allocated to improve the quality and accessibility of primary health care facilities in the next five years.

According to Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov, construction of new healthcare facilities in Vologda, Cherepovets and Verkhovazhye will begin in 2022-2023. Finances will also be spent on purchase of new equipment and vehicles, as well as on major repairs and construction of first-aid stations and outpatient clinics.
